Through a feature length film-essay Those Shocking Shaking Days explores the importance of language, imagery and poetry in relation to trauma. Can art ever convey war without exploitation or doing a disservice to the trauma it is trying to reveal? Challenging, difficult, occasionally funny, personable and personal, Doborac presents a deeply thoughtful and relentless questioning of how we present war and its consequences.

Selma Doborac born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, now living practising in Vienna, Austria. She graduated from the Department for Mixed Media Strategies under Bernard Leitner, at the University of Applied Art, Vienna, in 2007, and latterly from the Department for Art and Film, under Harun Farocki, at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, in 2012. Those Shocking Shaking Days has been shown at, among others, the Free Zone International Film Festival, in Belgrade, 2016, and FIDMarseille International Film Festival, Marseille, 2016.

"Those Shocking Shaking Days" has been selected with the help of sixpackfilms, Austria.
