Mixing together observation cinema and animation, documentary or very constructed pictures, drawings – all in an rock’n’roll kind of hanging -, Augustin Rebetez proposes an unusual universe, full of ideas and without any complexes.
The exhibition is presented like an art sting, at the same time fresh and disorganized, letting lightning dreamlike visions appearing suddenly, monsters with a human appearance looking, or very weird constructions. Reality seems forgotten on the way, it reveals itself in front of you through a « hangover » pictures series questioning the sad part of parties. Have a look!
Based in Switzerland, Augustin Rebetez (1986) studied at the photography school of Vevey (CH). In 2009, he exposed at the same time his work « Hangover» at « Photoforum Pasquart » (CH) and at the « Musée de l’Elysée » in Lausanne (CH). The latter has selected him for its scope project « ReGeneration2 ». He also won prices for a few short movies in Switzerland and abroad. In summer 2010, he will expose his work at the « Rencontres d’Arles » (F), at the « Musée de l’Elysée » (CH) and also at the Kunsthaus in Berne (CH) in prestigious collective exhibitions.
« The main components of Rebetez preoccupation are an anxious, breathtaking and abyssal time, an esthetic form of the gulf. », Le Quotidien Jurassien, swiss newspaper.
